In the 1960s, human resources was introduced (Human Resource Edu, 2022). When

many notions such as organizational behavior, selection assessments began, it took shapes in

many types of work settings. Then, the value of labor relations began to gain attention from it. A

variety of capital from any organization makes businesses work for them no matter if it is a big

or small organization. In order to generate income for an organization, capital is used. This

includes different goods, cash, or valuables. Every organization has one thing in common: they

all must have people to work for them known as Human Resources to make their capital work

for the organization. Human resources is used to describe both the people who work for a

company or organization and the department responsible for managing all matters related to

employees, who collectively represent one of the most valuable resources in any business or

organization, according to Human Resource Edu. The main focus throughout this text will be

Managing Human Resources in Organizations, Human Resource Functions and Roles for Human

Resource Departments.

Managing Human Resources in Organizations

Human Resource Management is designing formal systems in an organization to manage

human talent for accomplishing organizational goals, according to Valentine, Maglich, Mathis &

Jackson. In any organization, employees have to be recruited, trained and rewarded. Therefore,

Human Resources are set in place to make it happen.
